The mobile version of Crates is designed as a companion application, exclusively compatible with Crates Desktop. Users must have Crates installed on their Mac or PC to utilize this app. Currently, access is limited to Supporter accounts, underscoring its ongoing development stage.

The app integrates seamlessly with your existing music library, securely syncing your collection directly without reliance on third-party servers or cloud uploads. This ensures privacy and control over your audio files.

To optimize storage, Crates can automatically convert formats such as WAV, FLAC, or AIFF, saving space on your device. Transferring files over Wi-Fi is streamlined with a single click, facilitating efficient management of your music library on the go.

Beyond local files, Crates enables playback of bookmarks and playlists from Bandcamp, YouTube, and SoundCloud within the app environment. This broadens the scope of music discovery and listening options available to users.

When connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your desktop, Crates Mobile allows for streaming of local files directly from Crates Desktop or remote control functionality, enhancing flexibility and convenience during playback management.

This initial release of Crates Mobile marks the beginning of its development journey. The team is committed to evolving the app in response to the authentic needs and desires of passionate music lovers. Feedback, questions, and feature requests are encouraged—users are invited to join the Discord community for ongoing engagement.
